Bomb and Rockets Explosions

hiho,

i am brand new to AH2. flown over the years in wb il2 and stuff. The longer i fly here, the more fun i got, great community, nice options for advanced Teamplay, but one thing is in my eyes realy worth to change it

the Bomb explosions!

it just looks like they simply fall onto the ground, short smoky flashing grey. thats all?!?!? if you look old ww2 tracks when a 250kg from a Ju87 hits the ground, there is a lot stuff flying around for seconds. even the flashes are amazing.

why not integrate a custumable explotion and smoke, fire, small and big and so on? So all players without hardware limitations would have fun with extended explosions

i realy would like to see that :) Big , loud, amazing! Wake up the neighbourhood

First off, if your not using custom sounds, I strongly advise you do to so.

In the past I've preferred Mitsu's.
New bomb drop sounds, redone explosions, etc.

Also Tictok is just finished up a total rework of Mitsu's.
Its about 30% Mitsu's and the rest is all new material from tictok.

As to the explosion size, looks, etc. Yes, give us a customizable interface for fire & explosions. Let US decide how big, how much fire, how much smoke our system can handle.

As Ghosth said, download some custom sounds, it will make a difference. I like TwinBoom's sounds the most (You need to have RAR to download it) and Fruda's sounds are amazing! (also requires RAR).

Other sounds that I downloaded that I like that don't require RAR are Ranger's and Waffles.

sound isnt the problem, i downloaded Mitsu's sounds at my first day in AH2 :)
But, 100% agree with you Ghosth the Look of the Explosions is what i mean. My wish is a seperate interface where , depending on the machine the Visual Effects are custummizable.

That would be realy nice! A must have for me :)

see some of Croduh's work in the Terrain editor forum.

it can be done its just up to HTC whether they want the added strain in a massively multiplayer environment.

Is there an official statement why these actual explosion so small, grey without light, fire etc. ?

i like the idea about having a seperate Menu for Special Graphic effects ..

This is from 10,000 feet by the way.

I see a flash.  I see condensation forming in the pressure wave.  I see a short lived debris cloud.  Seems like you are asking for a roiling fireball to go along with it.  A fireball is not part of a general purpose bomb.  It can create a fireball by ejecting flamable external matierial from within it's blast radius, but it's not a given.

Not that there isn't room for improvement, but I would be disappointed to see hollywood type special effects in the game.
