Voice issues
« on: October 29, 2007, 04:36:28 PM »
Well, I've tried 2 different headsets w/ mics.  I've checked my settings on my comp and insured that I can hear myself clearly and correctly with both.  I've adjusted everything in and out of game I can think to adjust.

Still, when I key my mic to talk in game in sounds like I am talking through a fan in a wind tunnel....

I thought I saw somewhere, where the  AH-Voice program worked best through a seperate soundcard.  I am using the onboard sound of my A8N-SLI, Nvidia sound.

Any ideas?

Have you tried using the "Use Wave In" option in the voice settings of the game?

Pulling down the mic volume in aces high about halfway helped me out immensely when I setup this new laptop for AH a couple weeks ago.

Did you try adjusting the mic gain?

I assume the headset connects via the USB port?  If so, try another port.  There are multiple channels on the USB bus and you may be using one which is sharing an interrupt with another high usage device which can cause problems.

Yes, I tried adjusting the mic in the Nvidia mixer tool.

Neither of these are USB mics, they connect directly to the sound outlets on the board.

turn your sound hardware acceleration down to 3/4  Not sure if it will help here, but it does help in CPU usage, worth a try.

I did try that, and didn't notice a change.

Thank you, though!
