Thanks for the compliment but tonight I was just awful. I think Im getting burned out and need some time away from the game. Im like 1 to 14 tonight. Ive flew better the first night I ever played.

I just dont know what the hell is happening tonight.

Man, I apologize for not congratulating you on a very well flown attack. Im just a little freaked out about a night I couldnt do anything right.

You flew the Mossie very well. I remember when I first saw, you were going against that other fighter, I said "uh,oh". The Mossie is a very dangerous airplane for bombers. The night before I downed one and lived to talk about it. And felt fortunate.

I've blamed moon phases, black cats, you think of the hex I've tried it.

Fact is some days are golden, where anyone who gets in front of our guns dies. Golden bb's everywhere. Some days, weeks, months, are just tough. Long uphill battles where nothing changes for way too long.  Then you have out and out slumps, where you can't buy a kill. And 2 week newbs shoot you down easily.

Welcome to Aces High!

My advice, get a good nights sleep, go easy on Alcohol. (really messes with my shooting) Relax, try something different, like a Ground Vehicle run.

Do Something different to change your luck, jolt you out of the rut your in.

Thnks for the advice all. I wasnt blaming anything, or anyone but myself. Ive had some bad nights in the game but not like last night.

Ive never gotten involved in the gorund war Ghost. I'd love to learn it. Part of the reason I dont branch out more is due to all the problems Ive had mapping this Saitek hardware. For instance I cant map different views in either Saitek SST or AH controller. If I want different views with my Hat-1 button I have to manually change them all before I get in a fighter or GV.

I quit drinking many years ago. Maybe I should start again.:D

I've used Saitek X52 for at least 2 years -- without any programming problems at all. A lot of guys just use AH's own mapping function to set up controls and the leave the joystick/throttle unprogrammed, but I configured the SST with the appropriate keyboard commands mapped to buttons.

If you're having problems even getting the mapping to work at all, PM me your email addy and I'll send you my config. If it works, great -- you can fiddle around to make it what YOU want by changing stuff in the SST. If it doesnt work at all, you'll know the problem isnt with the SST, so it'l either have to be the windows end of things, or maybe a bad memory chip in the stick itself -- or something bizarre like that.

The Saitek has 3 different mapping settings, so you should be able to have different commands stored for bombers GVs and fighters. On mine, you choose those mapsets with a roller on the ...ummm...I think....stick itself, with each position having a different LED color. I use the same map for every sortie, so the main thing this feature does is really screw things up when I accententally slip that into the wrong position! I think the default is to automaitcally copy mapset one onto the other two positions, but it doesnt always seem to work that way....

Anyway, if you're having specific Qs PM me and I'll see if I can help out. I'm no tech geek, but I've played around with the SST enough to be pretty comfortable with what it can do.

I'm not looking for compliments, my ego takes care of that side of things! Just I felt that the fight was very enjoyable, it's not often I say that... though not so Enjoyable when you pinged one of my engines with your last buff (Fortunately by that time I believe you also were down to 1 engine ?)

Well fought though!

I know you not looking for compliments. Even still, you deserve one. I'll add my poor play last night was "after" we met. Every trick I could think of to get you horizontal I pulled on you but you werent buying.

Thats SOP for me with heavy gunships like the Mossie, 110, Hurricane...ect I want to take them out of the verticle from 600 to 1000 out, range them, and then pour on the lead trying to keep them out of in-close cannon range. Thats why I always take on a full load of fuel so I always have enough fuel to try and make a con impatient.

You, however, stayed verticle with me and was very patient in setting up. And you just didnt give me a whole lot of good looks in my guns.

                  .

Sim I'll send you my E-mail in a PM and thank you.

Hey Bombrich,
You can set up a whole second (and third) set of mappings in the AH mapper in the clipboard.  You select it by what you're using- 1 for bombers, 1 for fighters, 1 for vehicles etc.  Shouldn't affect your saitek settings at all since it's in-game only.

As for bad nights, I logged on last night.  I'm thinking, "ok, first night of the tour.  This tour I'm gonna fly smart and I'm not going to let myself get shot down!"

First sortie....run into Dogfart in a P-47 at 20k.   Boom, to the tower.

Ok, bad first sortie, I can turn this around.  Pick a field on the other side of the map, take a jug up to 20k again...run into Bizquick in a F4U-4.  Heck, this time I barely even got in two turns.  Boom, to the tower.

0-2.

Third sortie, take up a Pony this time.  Run into a set of bombers.  Ok, I'm the l33t buff killer.  First run in, ping ping ping...nurse my pony back to base.

It's going to be a long month at this rate.
