GV Score question
« on: November 02, 2007, 11:15:21 PM »
I upped my first GV of this tour (M4).  Rolled out of VH, fired one shot at a panzer on a hill, killed said panzer, towered out on concrete.

I take a look at my score and my Kills Hit Percentage = 50.00.

Anyone know why?

For some odd reason, hitting GV's does never  count for 100% of a hit.

You think that's odd?

Last night I killed a few GV's.  My kill kill hit % was just over 7% even though I was hitting much better than that.

Tonight I landed 5 kills with very few shots and my kill hit% went to 10+.

I never killed another plane or vehicle, but went and porked a strat target in an Osti.  My kill hit% is now over 70%.

It seems killing toolsheds does more for your kill hit% than killing opponents while, at the same time, it does nothing for your damage hit%.
I edit a lot of my posts.  Get used to it.

Have never figured out why tank cannon rounds don't add up like you might think they should. May have something to do with the difference between striking or piercing/exploding inside or outside. But I have figured out many things about what effects scoring.

An example: vs objects(damage) Hit% is with ordinance only for Bomber, Attack and Vehicle/Boat. Fighter has no place to score this so it does not count. Your vs object Points (total, per death and per sortie) increase for any damage you inflict by any means-connon, 50cal, bomb or whatever.

Vs enemy Hit% is with cannon/MG round in Fighter, Attack and Vehicle/Boat. Bombers have no place to score these so they do not count.
The game has no way of knowing what your intended target is(enemy or object) so it counts both for Attack and Vehicle/Boat but not with Fighter.

Only rounds that hit an enemy are a hit for a fighter. NOTE: ENEMY
Although you only get credit for kills of aircraft in a fighter for kills per death, sortie and time, your cannon/MG hits on GVs do count for something.

I found this out by accident. Upped as a fighter first sortie of a tour to kill some low Lanks over my town. He did a tripple bail before I got close. I suspect the same player upped the M3 I found soon after and killed. I was checking my score for somthing else later and found that that 1 sortie earned me goose eggs for everything except a Hit% of 15 and some air points.

If you look close at HT's scoring math it defines killscore for fighters as airkills only. But PlaneDamageScore should read EnemyDamageScore as it makes no distiction as to what kind of enemy. I got points for damaging the M3 but not for the kill. And fighter Hit% is against anything player controled- it does not seem to cull out GVs (or boats? have not spacificly tested here). And the math does not say it will cull them out either.

I've found several things about scoring that are "not as advertised" by the community that under closer inspection where supported by the math if you take it literaly and assume nothing.
