do your hobbies sometimes...

get a little out of hand?   Was paying the insurance and fees and taxes and taxes on fees and such on 4 vehicles...  3 cars and a motorcycle..  seems every month a new bill from some agency or another..

A Lincoln town car..  great for picking up the grand daughter and lending to people and used it yesterday to take the girlfriend to jack london state park... very relaxed.

Austin Healey.. rarely used.. drove it tho..  best taken in small doses..  331 small block built old school radical...  short wheelbase.. 400 hp range... hang on.. worth every penny.

BMW r75.. ride it once in a while... maybe 2 or 3 thousand miles worth of just getting some air.. helmet laws spoil most of the experiance tho.. nice out today.. maybe take a little ride out in the country.

69 El Camino   468 big block.. fairly mild..  6 speed.. lots of fun.. even has air conditioning.. drive it almost every day.. forget it is fast I drive it so much.

Guns..  a crapload.. shoot one every day in the house... the rest.. maybe get out once or twice a month to shoot.. no time.

reloading.. no time really...

work on the house.. no time really.

After looking at everything I do.. I have decieded that the real problem is work... it gets in the way of my life.

I went in last week and told em I was gonna retire within the year.

I think that will solve a lot of the problem.    If.. I don't get too many democrats breathing down my neck.

I wish i could get away with that kind of money Rip :)

Cost of keeping two boats is staggering even without factoring in purchase cost and spreading it out over many many years.

Hole in water...pour cash in.  I must admit, my boat costs me 1 can of fogging oil in the fall, and outdrive and engine oil change in the spring+gas, that's it. :aok

Insurance is minimal at my age. SOmething like $200 a year.  Of course, I can't sleep overnight on my boat like you can yours!  I had gas in my original post, buckeroo! ;) The Suzi 140 uses about 3 gph at 3000 rpm.

Ah sorry, missed that.

I have 2 boats that count (40 and 19 foot) plus a kayak, canoe and a small 12 foot boat with a 4hp engine :) I do not want to count the costs :D

Congrats, Laz.  A key factor in happy retirement is a lot of interests, and you seem to have plenty.  Keep mind and body exercised.  And careful with the budget so debt doesn't rear its ugly head.

well i used to have a few toys.

i had 4 classic english cars a couple restored and a couple working on.
trouble was the place they were in caught fire and i lost everything, the insurance didnt cover where they were so were null and void.

anyway 18 years of collecting parts and tools and the cars worked out about 30k to replace.

now the hobbies are Ah and computer 3d work.

Enjoy your hobbies why you can cos you never know when craps going to happen
