Alert Base Under Attack
« on: November 05, 2007, 06:43:44 PM »
What does "Scramble scramble enemies inbound" mean, or "Base under attack mean?" I know the meaning of the words, but are there any criteria for an audio alert to be sent out (i.e. More than 4 people attacking a base)? Please dont make fun of me for asking this question. All I ask is that you make fun "with" me.

I might be wrong but i think that whenever one of your bases starts to flash there will be this message sent. This way you can pop your map and check where there is an attack.

It's randomly generated.   Someone in the know will clear this up soon.

It means that Somewhere a enemy con has entered radar range of one of your bases, I was once told the range on this was 5 grids.

Meaning that if any base within 5 grids of starts to flash then u will be alarted with this msg. Not saying I am right but this is going from my own knowledge and what I have been told.

There are 4 warning range settings. Fighter, Bomber, Boat and Vehicle.

When either of those types enter the range needed to set the base flashing, you will get an audible warning.

This is not the Radar Ring that you can see visibly.  Not sure what the MA settings are exactly, but typical default settings are something like 3 miles for Boats and Vehicles, 12 miles for Bombers and Fighters.

That's about half a sector out from the tower for the planes.

Nothing clever here.  Please, move along.

Best thing you can do ... rename that sound file. Did that many moons ago ... that base alert drove me nuts.
