I don't know why Mac has it in his signature, but it comes from Red Buttons' routine at celebrity roasts when he would say something like, "Why does (insert celebrity name here) deserve a dinner when Abe Lincoln, a great man who said `A house divided is a condominium,' never had a dinner"
