Wouldn't it be nice..
« on: November 06, 2007, 12:39:40 AM »
..if others asked you, prior to jumping in on the kill that you spent time setting up?

..if you could carry on a fight, with another pilot and not worry about 5 of his buddies jumping in?

''if people had the common decency, to respect the challenge of the fight rather than worrying about how many kills they can land or what their kill:death ratio is?

to the cons I shot down tonight and even the ones that killed me in good solid 1 vs 1 fights, was fun.

To the guys that think it takes 5 or 6 cons to kill a single fighter. Well one can only hope, that maybe one day you will understand what the thrill of the fight is all about.

Late night old farts tend to do this. Forget it during peak hours though.

Sometimes I'll ask if someone needs help before I jump in. I never like to ruin a good fight.

Yes I would like to be able to enjoy a good 1 on 1 without having 50 of the guys buddies jumping in to kill me. I can't count the number of times this has happened.

Don't forget in the MA, you will die from a lot of things that have nothing to do with flying skills.
You want purity, go to the DA.
This world in arms is not spending money alone. It is spending the sweat of its laborers, the genius of its scientists, the hopes of its children. This is not a way of life at all in any true sense. Under the clouds of war, it is humanity hanging on a cross of iron.—Dwight Eisenhower, April 16, 1953

I don't like the DA for the simple reason is it sets up fake fights. Just about everyone wants to pick a plane and compete H2H in that plane at co alt. That might be fun at times, but not really what I'm after.

I'm looking for more of the challenge of coming up against the unexpected no matter if I'm at a lower alt or higher. Personally I to be at a disadvantage in a fight, because then it makes the kill more of a challenge.

I'm also not totally against 2 v 1 fights or even 3 vs 1 fights as they can be rather fun at times. (assuming I'm the 1 and not part of the 2 or 3) However 4 or 5 vs 1 starts to get a bit ridiculous and there is no real reason for it.

It just seems it's the rule anymore, rather than the exception. It's almost always a gang bang from one side or the other. Hence the reason for this topic. If figure if even just one player sits back and thinks about it and changes there way, the post is worthwhile.

Personally I'd love to see the arena message when it's blank. Just telling people to respects others fights and blahh blahh. Yea never know maybe someone will read it. I know it's wishful thinking, but nothing is ever going to change unless the players start changing it themselves.

I will often ask if i see a 1v1 or ask that others stay out when i am 1v1.  Often I'll run into a good stick and when i get them or they get me I'll reup looking for them to continue what was a good fight.  Too often though I'll be tangled up in a knife fight and before i can stop them, or worse after i have asked them to stop, someone will come in and try and pick my foe.  That annoys me more then getting gang banged by the enemy.

Worse yet, in my opinion, are those furballs where you have a 5 on 5, or more, situation and your four friends go running off to chase down one of theirs, leaving you in a 4 on 1...

I dont ask.  1 vs 1 goes both ways.  Not only when you are winning.

Yea that's why I avoid furballs if I can. You can never keep others off your kills and then half the time like you said.. Most of them go off chasing 1 LA7 leaving you stuck with a bunch of cons.
