Operation: Citadel?

Im thinking Operation: Citadel (Battle of Kursk) would be a nice scenario. Mainly for two reasons: one, its an Eastern front battle, which would be nice to do, and two, it has potential for an 'Aces Low' element also. This was an important battle, too, because it was the battle in which the VVS finally gained control of the skies. That and I personally think the 1943 planeset is the most fun. Im thinking the planeset:

Luftwaffe:
Fw 190A5 (was the A8 around in 1943?)
Bf 109G2
Bf 109G6
Ju 87
Ju 88

Panzer
Maybe one Tiger unit.. but, all things considered, this probably would not be a good idea.

Im not sure what the objectives would be (though, it most likely would be a simple attack and defend), but with a mix of ground and airforces, encompassing escorting, bombing, intercepting, air superiority, ground attack, and vehicle to vehicle, this would probably one of the most fun things we could do, and would have something for everyone (especially with the varied Russian planeset). The reason for no Tigers is obvious, the T34 we have is already outclassed by the Panzer, but, technically, the Soviets should have a numerical advantage. Ill try to find some sort of ratio, and do some more research on the battle.

Yes the a-8 was around, but would be phased out due to its altitude/ general preformance in comparison to allied fighters.

and i beg to differ the t34 was a great machine and can easily ruin a panzer commanders day. the HVAP round will shred it, and the t34's slopped armor makes it really hard to land hits on, or course it's weak spot being the rear or rear portion of tracks. still dont down play the t34.

The 190A-8 is a 1944 plane.
I'd love such a scenario but as always the russian planeset is very thin imho..

Yes, thats the main problem. Actually, the Yak9T wasnt around 'til the end of 1943 (OP:Citadel was in June), and I dont think the La5FN was in any major numbers during the battle either. But, without those two planes, we dont have ANY domestic Soviet planes for such a scenario, which would suck. Im still hoping that are next planes will be the I16, Yak1, Yak7B, Yak3, and Airacobra, which will at least fatten up our planeset a bit (even though the I16 and Yak3 wouldnt be used in a scenario like this).
