The Fins love guns almost as much as Americans do.  When Russia invaded Finland just after the start of WWII, the Fins decimated the Soviet Army, despite being at a huge disadvantage.   Part of the reason was that so many of their men were excellent marksmen and hunters.

They are also excellent rifle makers.  I own two Finish Rifles myself.   Here is a photo of my newer one, a Tikka T3

Well, we have had our own share of these shoot-outs.

A few years ago a girl went to a local shooting club and instead of shooting the targets she shot a few fellow shooters. She was caught alive and I think she was put to mental hospital.

A few decades ago a farmer shot 4 or 5 police men who were on the way to arrest him for some minor misconduct.

Also a couple of years ago a young man exploded a bomb in a market killing himself and few other people.

This particular young guy had been bullied at school for some time (as was the bomber guy) so that may shed some light to his strange ponderings.

When I had my licences i had to consult my local police superior face to face for every one of them and i though the system was pretty good and from those times I think the system has become more strict but I guess it does not work too well in some areas...

I wished that he would have lived and gone to trial.. these guys live in a first person shooter rock and roll fantasy land and I think it would have been helpful to see him in court weeping like a little girl sissy that he really is.

Yeag,
It's sad to see that you have sunk to the level of beetle as a means of gaining attention.

Condolences to the families and those who were hurt by this poor excuse for protoplasm.

It was very interesting to carry out the flight trials at Rechlin with the Spitfire and the Hurricane. Both types are very simple to fly compared to our aircraft, and childishly easy to take-off and land. (Werner Mölders)

The shooter belonged to the same shooting club where a woman committed the triple murder earlyer and he shared the first name, Eric, with the Columbine killer..

humans are complex creatures prone to critical emotional breakdown.  Its a threat we all learn to deal with and live with.  So unfortunately.

What has been the public response in Finland since the murders?  What has been the governments reponse to the public since then?
