Left/Right brakes not working...
« on: December 04, 2007, 11:34:57 PM »
Didnt notice till today when I got my Saitek Pedals..

by default the brakes are mapped to the x and y axes of the pedals (the foot brake movement)

so I tried using them and ... nothing...

so I mapped left and right brake to keys... nothing..

:huh

as far as I can tell eveything is mapped correctly, everything calibrated etc etc... but I get no response.

You can't have the brakes mapped to BOTH axis AND keys, it won't work. Un map keys. Next be sure they brake axis work in windows calibration. Once your sure they work in windows, load the game and goto the map controllers page. Select the pedals from the drop down box and open the advanced window. Move your left brake and look for which axis is responding in the list of axis, select it, calibrate it, and assign it to the left brake (analog) Do the same for the right.

Mapping a controll somewhere else seems to remove it from where it was for some things, others can be multiply mapped, ie I have fire buttons several places but can only have field of zoom on one control, (analog vs. switches?)  I've never had a keyboard conflict, ie I can lower the gear with G or use my CH flightyoke switch.  I still use C and V to brake when I want to turn on the ground.

When you calibrate in AH, you have to return the axis to its center. This screws up my throttle quadrant unless I center them after going to both extremes.

Maybe the same is happening with the toe brakes? Have you tried calibrating them then returning them to the "halfway depressed" point, THEN testing them in-game?

I had to unmap them from EVERYTHING including the keyboard before they would work with the pedals.
