I've been here little more than 3 years and my k/d has never been much over 1. Usually not over 1. Thats mostly due to my complete disregard for scoring and finding pure enjoyment in the immersion and realism that this fine game lends itself too. Plus, I stink. :)

:aok
Apparently, one in five people in the world are Chinese. And there are five people in my family, so it must be one of them. It's either my mum or my dad. Or my older brother, Colin. Or my younger brother, Ho-Chan-Chu. But I think it's Colin. - Tim Vine.

reading is fundamental. He mentioned his k/d simply as a measure of how bad he felt his fighting was. The issues that frustrate a person with AH are not always the measured. Getting ranked on by what passes for a community in game or out could be a factor also I would think.

First off, Foder is no kid.  He one of the orignal AK's.  He use to avg about 4-5 kills per death.  Most I believe he had was about 12 k/d.  He mainly flew fighters, very rarely would see him in a bomber.  I remember killing him and him killing me when I was with the Most Wanted.  U guys can say all u want about foder but he a good guy and cares for what he plays and he not afraid to give his opinion wheter it be good or not.  Everyone is intitled to it.  No need for calling him a troll and such.

Absolutely agree, overall though I think people are making the comment that (stats don't matter) and if they do it doesn't take long to get K/D back. I'm at 5 after just a little over a month, doesn't take long.

But whatever stat you do or don't follow, there is plenty to do and enjoy either way. And I also remember Foder well along with most AK's and old hands.

Though I will never forgive you guys for pizza but that's another thread. :)

Sad to say though, this is todays generation...Immediate Gratification. No patience in working towards a goal and really enjoying it when it is reached.

As for the K/D thing............

Well, I still have that dadburned bullseye painted on my tail. If I were to start a thread...Who has zapped 68Boomer....That would be the longest thread in AH history.

Sure, I get frustrated at times over many things, but thats when you turn the game off for a bit, then come back on with a fresh outlook.

And still the bullseye is there, but hey...they are missing it sometimes. I was actually very jazzed when I got my first clean kill in a fight.....2 months after I went gear up for the first time.

Point is....have fun...this is only a game and if you take it too seriously....well....3 words...........

Get a Life.

YIKES...

This isn't WoW....

The learning curve is steep and long.  If you give up on this after a bleeping WEEK....your gonna give up on things in life after a YEAR that COULD have been the best thing in your life...and made you MILLIONS.

TRUST ME.....I work with AFLAC, company #151 on the Fortune 500 List.

If your 12, I can understand.  Suck it up, stick with it, HAVE FUN and learn  to succeed over TIME, not a TIME limitation.  A WEEK in this game as far as a learing curve is a bleeping joke.  I've flown flight sims for 14 years and learn something new every day, and I am FAR from being a great stick in this game.

BTW: this is supposed to be for.........er.......FUN.

I can mention 150 other sticks who leave me in the dust.

I was an Olympic Trials qualifying Greco-Roman wrestler...got a National Bronze Medal.....State Champion.....I paid for mistakes in broken bones, concussions, and spinal injuries.

And your gonna quit because you weren't top dog in a bleeping WEEK?

You are paying for mistakes in a no injuries cartoon game here.

LEARN from your mistakes.

If you're 25 or older...I worry you might live under a bridge abuttment when you are 40.

Fodder was around before most of you even heard of Aces High. Calling him a stupid spineless kid because he enjoys WoW more than AH (not that uncommon, I can think of several former AHers that left for WoW about the time we got inundated with you clueless dolts) says more about you, than about him.

Dont know Foder but wish him well.

I think many who have chimed in missed the point.

I took this as he is not playing up to his own expectations of himself and as such this is just not any fun for him right now.

In anything you do, frustration sometimes gets the better of us all, especially when you know you are capable of doing much better than you currently are.

I dont think he is wraped up in what his score is, or his rank, he was merely using his K/D ratio as a measuring stick of how he is playing.

<> Fodder I wish you well, but I do think if you maybe gave it a little more time the rust would wear off and you would be back to performing at the level you expect of yourself.

Good Luck.
