What will you do if the highest court says we cannot own firearms? Will you give them up? Will you become one of the bad guys? Will you be one of the good guys?

Answer as you really feel you would act.  Here are the two answers
1. Turn them in and be a good guy.
2. Keep them and be a bad guy.

Phasers answer.

I have been a good guy all my life. Am I ready to be a bad guy? I have to protect my family and I know for a fact the police cannot. They cannot be everywhere at once. So....

I'll keep them and be a bad guy and I'll teach my children to be bad guys also. My god look what I will become. :(

Freedom really has a high cost.

I don't believe the court will rule on whether the constitution intended the 2nd for individuals or not. If I'm wrong and they do, it will be in favor of individual rights. If I'm wrong twice, it will be the beginning of the end of our government.

Many laws don't apply where I live.  I'm so far out, it'd take the police 30 mins to get to me even if I had a Bat-Signal lit up to show the way and offered a free dozen donuts per cop.

A ban of guns would be the last thing on my local or state agenda.  I'm pretty sure the last report I saw listed nearly 90% of our legislative officials as gun owners.

Think Prohibition, think 100's of federal officers with nothing better to do than search everyhouse, neighbors turning in neighbors just to get even with them for some percieved wrong...personally I dont see it happening but if it did I guess that it will be contested by some states and there would be a loophole by which the state could just establish a State Militia and every gun owner could signup and say they are militia,  when in turn would create a whole bunch of new regulations and taxes, fees and such, more fustration...

As hard as I try, I cannot see the gun ban coming down from the supreme court.

However, I am almost sure it will come from Congress, especially if congress is democratically controlled with a democrat in the White House.

That's not necessarily a bad thing.  I think it's about time to clean house.

I guess that depends ultimately if we win the revolution or not.

no guesses....

two answers.black and white, no grey... the Supreme Courts decides private ownership of firearms is not covered by the Constitution (unlikely, but I like the question) After much wrangling in Congress a bill is passed giving gunowners 90 days to turn in weapons to local law enforcement, (remember the gold coinage in the 30's Mr Roosevelt?)
so you have 90 days to comply with the new law...

Either you turn them in

Or
You dont turn them in....

your answer is?

Anyone willing to turn theirs in based on that scenario doesn't deserve to have one.

there's an old war movie( i have forgotten who is in it)

but a fella trains some native islanders to defend themselves against  the Japanese.

In the end they are asked what they would like and the chief says :

"our freedom, and guns so that we may keep it"

Within 24 hours of this being announced I would expect reports of an incident in Dixon.

I think you'll hear of incidents in a few more places as well. Lazs just thinks white people don't know how to put on a good riot.
