Pretty cool story and nice find.
I know its a bit off topic but..
The Imperial War Museum Duxford and the Royal Air Force Museum are among the institutions expressing interest.
The difficult part is to keep such a dramatic discovery secret. Looting of historic wrecks, aircraft or ships, is a major problem, in Britain as it is worldwide," Gillespie said.
Now I like and respect museums and understand what they are trying to do. But their arrogance and statements like this sometimes annoys me.
Why is it whenever it seems something historical is found that they seem to automatically think it belongs to them? And they call anyone that might try to get it instead of them "looters"?
I've seen similar statements on other finds. some of them on private property, where the property owners took some things for themselves and the site was referred to as being "looted"
There is one story in particular that comes to mind (though I forget the exact when and where) in America with some dinosaur fossels where some fossels were taken by the landowner.
They seem to act as though they are the only ones who should be allowed to touch, hold, look at, or more importantly possess such things.
That one in particular irks me because its not like they dont have plenty of their own.
think about it.
when you go to a museum. for every item you see and find interesting, there are propobly 100 other items locked away in a drawer or on some shelf that would be just as interesting to look at.
Its this arrogance that leads me to think that if I ever found something.. like say a skul;l of a dino. they'd be lucky if I even told them about it let alone look at or have it.."on loan"
