Read this on another site...

"Wouldn't it be funny if when Maveric throws Goose's nameplate into the ocean at the end , we saw the nameplate land in a whale's blowhole and see the whale choke to death."

I thought it would be funnier if he lost his balance, fell overboard, was sucked under the carrier and spit into the wake with his head chopped off.

Xenu descends from space and kidnaps maverick. Maverick is then forced to pilot interstellar DC-10s (or is it DC-8s?) for the rest of his miserable existence.
