I hear what you'r saying, but I don't think its that simple. While there are a ton of 1 trick ponies (not the plane, if you know what I mean) and pick-n-vulch guys, I'm encouraged to see more simple ACM than I used to.
Where I used to see a stark split between the stick stirring easy kill and the master fighter who reverses and whoops my butt, now its plain old common to see guys do the break turn/ lag roll reversal attempt. Not that its often done well, but its there....and that bodes well, in my book.
I hope its all a matter of developmental stages. I know I went through the "any way I can land multiple kills, I'll do it" period, but that got old for me. SO we had this big influx with the arena changes, and they're moving through those stages. There WILL be cases of arrested development (skill development, I mean -- not talking about 200...although now that I think about it...).
Maybe I'm too optimistic, but I hope we'll be seeing some ACM disciples too.
