We’re going to have to take things away from you on behalf of the common good.” (Hillary grandstanding at a fund raising speech in San Francisco; SFGate.com 6/28/2004.)
Nope, didn't change a thing, still think of her in the same light
___________
Just for clarification, what is hateful about this? I know you may not have been speaking directly to me, but I'm curious what the view of "hate" is.
I'm of the mind that if one accepts things being taken away for the "common good" then one has to, by design, accept that they are comfortable with someone else deciding what that common good is. That takes away my, or your, ability to act on your own behalf as it may interfere with someone elses view. Now, I am not ok with that. I abhor the concept of some blowhard thinking they know what is better for me than I do. I won't stand for it.
Is that "Hate" or is it individuality? If more people took care of themselves then we wouldn't be subjected to the whims of a so called leader who wants to take care of you. Why should I turn over my life to allow someone else to make decisions for me?
If you want real results, knock the Federal Government back down where it belongs, leave the social remedies at the local level where they know firsthand what "needs" to be done, not what some grandstanding politician wants done so they get re-elected.
So, is this a message of "hate"?
