Can you guess which American spoke these stirring words last night?
Quote
When the Founders drafted the Constitution, they had a clear understanding of tyranny. They also had a clear idea about how to prevent it from ever taking root in America. Their solution was to separate the government's powers into three co-equal branches: the executive, the legislature, and the judiciary. Each of these branches plays a vital role in our free society. Each serves as a check on the others. And to preserve our liberty, each must meet its responsibilities -- and resist the temptation to encroach on the powers the Constitution accords to others.
Was it:

   1. Christopher Dodd
   2. Supreme Court Justice Anthony Kennedy
   3. Ron Paul
   4. George W. Bush
   5. Dennis Kucinich
   6. Hillary Clinton

Go ahead and take your best guess.

Now check  to see if you were right.

So Bush's writers created it, all Bush did was to say the words outloud.

Anything that's remotely intelligent, yes...

About the only thing that he's ever said off the cuff that sounded remotely inspiring or well thought through was at ground zero on Sep 12th 2001 when he was responding to one of the rescue workers...

Just about everything else thats come out of his mouth (when he wings it) is pretty much verbal diarrhea .  (but that's just my opinion.)

I thought it was common knowledge that most of every President's speeches were written by writers.

The man who wrote "Jaws", Peter Benchley, was also President Nixon's speechwriter.

No, im saying that he is capable of coherent thought but something goes wrong coming out of his mouth. There could be many reasons for it.

Look at videos of when he was younger. Its weird how eloquent he was..charismatic even. He aint like that now nor was he as bad as he is now during the first elections. Seems to me the guy has some mental disorder hitting him the past few years.

(could be lack of interns too  ;)  ).

You cant deny though..he's the most entertaining president so far. THATS MY BUSH should be put back on the air.

speech

Quote
"And then I'll go away with some other writers that I work with and we'll come up with a draft, and then sometimes it will go through 20 or 30 drafts through the process," Gerson said. "And [Bush will] tell us exactly the way he wants it. And he edits on the teleprompter right at the end to kind of make sure the words sound the way he wants them."
-- Michael Gerson ex Bush Speech writer

Perhaps one reason is that there are not 1400 websites siting eloquent moments.

I can show video snippets of nothing but interceptions and you would come back thinking that Brett Farve was a terrible quarterback.
