Something weird in a tiger at A92
« on: November 17, 2007, 10:21:25 PM »
When A92 fell I was in a tiger outside the VH. Apparently there was a gazillion tons of bombs dropped on me, as well as a couple million ack rounds put into me. All without apparent effect.

If you have film of this glitch, post it here. I'm sure many of us would like to see exactly what happened.

I'm especially interested in the footage from the field guns.

BoPs were mentioned specifically, so, gentlemen, here is your chance to show your footage of the glitch.

I'm hunting for the next 3 days, I'll check back in wednesday night and see if any films have been posted.

Yeah, I was in a 190 and put a couple hundred rounds in you, as did about 15 other planes.  No apparent effect, not even smoking.  No film though, shoulda thought of that.
You are in a maze of twisty little passages, all alike.

I had a couple people say it was because the tiger was tracked. That doesnt make much sense to me, but stranger things have happened.

I typically dont roll film, so I dont have anything from this, I'm just hoping someone has some footage that shows what happened.

If you dont want to post the footage, PM me and we can exchange it via e-mail.

Were people just firing rounds at you, or were bombs also being dropped?

Bombs, 20mm, 30mm, .50, ack, I think I saw a kitchen sink land nearby. What finially did the tiger in was a very well placed 1800kg bomb from a stuka.

I watched that one came in, kinda funny how this little black dot gets bigger, and bigger and bigger then blamo!

Wonder how many people got assists.

lolz, they were strafing your tiger and expected to kill you?

:lol

I've seen the bops drop bombs.  They have a hard enough time hitting a hangar, let alone something as small as a tank.

Coshy had upped a tiger at a base that we were about to take.  When we captured it, he was near the center of the field.  Immediately all base ack, both manned & unmanned started firing at him, along with 15-20 planes dropping ord on him.  Not sure if eggs or ack double tracked him, but he was stuck.  For 10-15 min., pilots were reupping and dropping more & more eggs on him.  10-15 planes dropping fresh ord loads 2-3 times equals 10,000-20,000 lbs. of ord(est.) on him, to no effect.  Coshy, I heard 2-3 people on range saying they were filming it.  Hopefully someone will send it to you.  Let me make it clear that not one player was accusing you of cheating in any way.  All that was being said was that there must be a bug somewhere.  My squaddie, BushLt, was the one that texted you on 200, saying it had happened to him too, when his tiger was double tracked. 15-20k should kill any GV.  Hopefully someone can post the film in the bugs section, because all believed that's what this was.  It was nothing personal against you and I believe your discussion with the pilots bombing you on 200 showed that.  There were no personal attacks or cheating allegations.

It is a reoccurring bug with a double tracked tiger, making it almost impossible to kill(almost needed a nuke), nothing more.  Thank you Coshy for speaking up and hopefully someone at HTC will check it out.  I agree, a film of it would sure help out.

Stang, it's funny how you can make fun of people's egg dropping accuracy.  The only thing you've ever bombed was your S.A.T.s

I'll just say I've survived similar onslaughts in a Tiger on many many occasions.

If you don't score a direct hit with a bomb in the right location you will not bring it down.  Blast proximity damage won't affect a Tiger (other than maybe tracking it).  Killing or even hurting one with cannon or machine gun rounds is dreamland (except well placed rounds from a Hurri IID).

It's why I always up a Tiger if I'm defending a VB alone, even against air attack.
I edit a lot of my posts.  Get used to it.
