American Gangster

Anyone seen this movie?

I went to the nearest casino hotel with a movie theater to watch this. I must say this is a GREAT movie, but the picture quality is just TERRIBLE.  Hollywood should do away with film and start shooting movies in digital hi-definition:aok

Also, I forgot to mention that this was based on a TRUE STORY :)

Well after it gets the Hollywood treatment, usually that means 5% is true and accurate? ;)
Men fear thought as they fear nothing else on earth -- more than ruin -- more even than death.... Thought is subversive and revolutionary, destructive and terrible, thought is merciless to privilege, established institutions, and comfortable habit. ... Bertrand Russell

It was very good..not great though.

my main cause of concern is that wannabe-gangsta-rappers are going to idolize this guy..and start wearin derby hats & fur jackets etc.

wait..maybe that's a good thing

Film would have been better had I not choose to have gone on opening night at 11 PM where 98% of the audience were from Bridgeport and wanna be black gangsters...I've never seen a group of people act so out of control.

well.. it was the same back in the day with the old "biker" movies.... lots of fake bikers acting out at the theater that showed "based on.." biker movies...

real bikers never went or..  watched em at the drive in.
