HOUSTON -- Houston-based Identigene is test marketing a drug store DNA kit that allows users to determine who fathered their baby, KPRC Local 2 reported Tuesday.
The kit is on the shelves in some West Coast and Midwest drug stores.
If sales take off, the product could soon become available over the counter across the country.
Inside the kit are three swabs for the user to take inner cheek samples from the baby in question, the biological mother and the alleged father.
While the kit retails for $29.99, sending the samples off for analysis will cost the user an additional $120.
Results are returned in the mail or can be viewed online.
There are other kits currently for sale online, but this is the first kit available for purchase in a drug store.[/b]
And will it be available for purchase with a Lone Star card?
