I live in Windsor, south Detroit but on the other side of border, great place to live,quiet, clean,diferent world,
in weekends are lot of US visitors crowding our real stip clubs or fill up the restaurants patios around Casino , walking on the street and smoking cuban cigars, good thing they are checked at border and don't bring the gunz,
I go in Detroit and suburbs, very often, imop is great city ,huge industrial infrastructure, with lot of potential, even if now is slow, impresive downtown skyline, nice location on the lake,but only old residential central area looks bad with armored glass at every gas station, steel bars at windows and crakheads expessing their artistic talent with paint spray on all bridges,fences, even the railway cars, but it's a nice experience , looks like a decoration, from gag movies, or rap music videoclip
