Is it cold where you live? This will cheer you up.

We had some turf put down in the back yard this morning.  The sod was delivered to our house at about 2:30 this AM. As it sat overnight the moisture in the sod became quite cool.

I walked around the back yard in shorts and a t-shirt,  after the sod was installed, I shuffled around on it w/ bare feet. Well, the bottom of my feet became rather cold. This effect, combined with the fact that the high on the day was only 78 degrees, almost induced me to put shoes on.... almost.

Anyway, I hope this makes all you cold weather sufferers feel better.

Cheers from Arizona,

Steve

I think it hit 80 here today. Supposed to be in the 30's Thursday. Where else but Texas?

hot-cold-hot-cold-hot-cold.  I've been sick as a result *cough* *sniffle*
I'll take hot or cold, but prefer them not to change back & forth several times within the span of a week.

I was born and raised in a part of the world that has a solid 4 seasons. I hated living in Florida for the 1 year I was there...heat year around ain't natural.

Leaves turning autumn colors with a touch of frost and a ray of sunlight glistening through the dry rustling leaves clinging to their last days of life in the fall is natural.

The crisp crunch of snow beneath your boots on a cold January morning while your nose starts to tingle from the brisk air is natural.

The smell of flowers bursting through the spring soil and the smell of a freshly cut lawn in the spring is natural.

Mild, mellow heat of the summer, just hot enough to make one want to get wet and wild without being terribly uncomfortable after returning to the heat of the day...is natural.

Heat, 24/7, 365 days a week....not natural.

Long live 4 season! :aok

I'm back in CA for the week, snowed in Idaho today, wore shorts all day Sunday. I might miss that about this stinkhole.

I can drive 90 minutes and be in the biggest alpine forest in North America.
All the winter wonderland things are right there. So I have my cake, and can eat it whenever I want.  :aok

let's see...i've got lots and lots of emerald green water,  poofy clouds, beautiful bayous, temperate weather, normal sized insects and trees...

you've got dust, gigantic bugs, nary a cloud in a god forsaken blown out sky, concrete rivers and lots and lots of poisonous and/or spikey things to grab onto you at any chance they get.

my jealousy overwhelms me.

Rode my Harley to work today. Left at noon for a nice twisty ride up HWY 9 to Alices Resturant for a late lunch. 72 degrees, clear and dry. Had a good day, going surfing tomorrow...life's good on the Monterey Bay, Ca. these days.

Ya, I've been where you are.  You've got enough humidity to wilt concrete.  I bet you are one of the few remaining English speakers in FL. Do you like Cuban food? I was just having a little fun.  with any luck, the next hurricane will blow a sense of humor ashore near you... if it doesn't blow you out to sea.

lessee... it was 23°C
It was not quite as hot as I'm used to, we regularly see 30°C+.
I grew up in the tropics of North Queensland where 40° is the norm but 50°+ are not unheard of.
It's funny though I never remember it getting that high when we were kids though.

Temp here hovers around freezing so its not too bad yet. No signs of snow on the ground but forecast sais we may get abit later today or tomorrow.

Nice and warm by the fireplace in my office and the moccamaster has just finished brewing another pot.

No complaints :)
