England were shockingly poor and deserve to go out.  Though i'm not sure shockingly poor is correct, it wasn't a shock to see england play like that under Mclaren at all.  Ok, it didn't help that Carson was beyond poor and should have saved the first and last goal without trouble.  However, the whole team was awful.

Croatia have always played nice football so it wasn't a surprise to me that we would lose once i saw our team sheet.

Bye bye Mclaren!:D

There is nothing worse then Russian Federation football team.

Soviet team was the first Euro Cup champion in 1960. We also played in Final 1988.

But now it looks like a nonsense of the Year: Russia in, England out.

We'll have another portion of National Infamy. I bet they'll not get into the play-offs.

That was probably one of the most interesting games of football i've watched.

The first goal,  easy save for any normal goalkeeper I guess the pitch didn't do anyone a favour.  For this I blame American football ruining the sacred turf that is Wembley.   Whoever let them play on it 4 weeks ago should be shot!

The second goal wayne Bridge was awful throughout and had no awareness of what was around him.  He nearly cost us another silly goal in the second half with his haphazard defending.

Now for us to come out and get the 2 goals back was good.  I thought hey maybe they arent a bunch of overpaid, un-hungry for glory, chumps.

Beckham delivered that final ball of supreme quality for Crouchies good finish.  I expected us to carry on pushing for a winner.  As usual a timid manager and timid players sitting back for the comfort zone.  You can't play keep ball on a pitch that is fubared you gotta fight for every ball!

We didn't and the Croats did I wish them well in the finals.

Niko, Niko, Niko!

Hopefully he can get better at Portsmouth :)

I do Nilsen!

Maybe you haven't got a green field nearby, 2 goals, some mud and a piece of leather.

When I was on holiday last year in the sun.  The hotel where I was at had a little pitch.  Random guys from all over, all speaking different languages not understanding each other.  But playing together and understanding the game and having fun.

Thats the beauty of it bringing different nations together to play.  I'd rather have a kickabout with foreigners than be standing in a trench.

Of course the yobs give it a bad name but this is what it is really about.

Heh, Nilsen is probably just sad that Norway is out.

So is Finland after 0-0 tie in Portugal. Nothing surprising about that though.

I dont know what Norway is "out of" so you got me wrong there Panzzer :)

Im a football hater in a land of football nutts. Thankfully I have a wife and few select friends who feel the same way about the sport (or "mass hysteria" as i call it) so im not completly isolated from social contact with other living people. :D Ill even go as far as saying that when it comes to football the americans got it right :aok

Ok.. start bashing now :D

lol

Ok let me educate you a little Nilsen.  Every 4 years the world cup is held and to stop us from getting bored in between the Euro championship is held every 4 years in between the world cup.

Every nation has to qualify to get into the finals and the last time England failed to qualify for a major tournament was in 1994 in the USA.

Norway are usually pretty good at qualifying too but they failed also last night.

The euro finals will take place in austria-switzerland next summer.

After sleeping one night I think that Portugal was better in the match despite it ended 0-0. But overall our football is doing nice progress; our Under21 team has so far won all the matches.

Anyway, lycka till Sverige, the only Nordic country to qualify this time.

I had a greek friend  who put 100 euros on Greece to win last time at the start of the tournament the odds  were 100/1.
