large map in LW orange
« on: November 24, 2007, 05:24:24 AM »
I had some of the best fights I have had in the 3 months that I have had the subscription. I thoroughly enjoyed myself and what alot of people copmplain about the large maps I thinkit adds to the experience.

I read some many complaints that it takes too long to take bases that it takes forever to win war
(my view) this is because more people to keep it going for example i saw many times especially early on in area of 85 or 86 not sure which but could have gone either way Knights could have took i think it was bish or vise versa (many times before one was finally taken). I have not seen fights like that on any other map yet.

I say if this is the thing that brings on these kind of back and forth battles, KEEP IT COMING.

And if I become soured by this kind of thing like som many others then please shoot me down until I see the error of my ways.

please stop the whining

People pay their $15 a month and have a right to state their opinions without AH drones telling them they are "whining". Jeez, get a life.

If I was still bombing strats I would hate this new map. Even with over 300 players on I'll bet over 90% of the map had nothing going on last night. So tell me why we need a big map? And If I wanted to take heavies up to bomb strats from an elevated main Rook airbase last night I would have had to fly farther then Magellan sailed to get to it. Sure you could have taken off from a closer base, droned on over thru empty space, dropped and droned back, and nobody would have even known you were there. Maybe thats why Bish strats were at 100% all night even tho several of their strats were front line.

There are some good things to the new map I agree, and I agree its not impossible to find a fight. But theres even less strategic fighting on it then the old ones. The map is so big people really cant keep up with whats going on in it.

                         Awww gee, did I "whine"?

The large map has got our squad working together and having more fun then ever and the only time I dont have fun is when the squad isnt online. The bish dont work together well without ghi or someone else to get things rolling so getting our bases taken is going to happen. This map is great fun and one thing I learned from it is how unimportant map resets are.

The small maps had grown stale and moldy and this latest map has finally got things interesting again.
If you like the Sick Puppy Custom Sound Pack the please consider contributing for future updates by sending a months dues to Hitech Creations for account "Chalenge." Every little bit helps.

not everybody who states their opion is a whiner but those who want to act as though their opionis the only one that matters is whining. we all pay our $15 and HTC seems to try and give all a chance to see a little of what they call fun (trying to please everybody even if only occasionaly) but thanks for your input on my opinion sorry if i sounded like a drone

i also would not say that it is incredibly hard to find a fight as a matter of fact i found with large map it is more possible to find what you are looking for because i saw lots of small bar-dar which all turned out to be 2-3 on 2-3 type fights far away from large bar-dar which was where I spent most of my time turned out to be furballs and I noted lots of people attempting to and alot of times succeeding in putting together stragies for attempting  to win the war. Seems to me large maps have enough variety to please most of the people most of the time.

IMHO

thanks for time

When the large map is packed I admit its a lot of fun. I really like the mountain ranges, all the water...ect Let me ask you guys this? Does it seem like theres twice the amount of air bases per square mile on the large map? Man there are bases on top of bases. Everytime I spank a fighter it seems like hes right on top of his own airbase to land on.

Or maybe Im wrong. Maybe theres the exact amount of strips per square mile?

And also let me ask this? Do you think anyones going to actually win this battle? It seems like Uterus X 8.

Soupcan thanks for your contribution. I now know that you actually exist, but are you sure?

HiTech has said all maps must have bases at least 3/4 of a sector apart.  Maps have varing densities, but this is a minimum.

And also let me ask this? Do you think anyones going to actually win this battle? It seems like Uterus X 8.Let me ask you this . . . why should a war win be your only measure of success?  99%+ of the fun to be had in this game have nothing to do with winning the war IMO.

1, Ok, but on this map I can count 9 bases with overlapping radars and dont ever remember so many on the old maps. So, like, the old maps could have bases averaging 1 sector apart, and this map could average 3/4th sector apart, and the big map would have more bases right?

2, Its not my "only measure". Quit putting words in my mouth.

3, You arent soupcan. Nor are you me. So why are you commenting? Try reading the entire thread next time. And btw you didnt answer any of my questions.
