AUto takeoff CV question

Sometime auto takeoff doesn't work off CV I've found.  Is this because maybe CV is turning?  Tried recalibrating the stick and doesn't help.

Well mate, your right on the button.

If you have auto take off enabled and the CV is turning, you will find yourself crashing into the tower.

Try taking off without it. Remember, high revs = a lot of rudder to counter the torque.

Here's your checklist for a CV takeoff:

1. Check rear view to see if CV's turning. Let it straighten out if it is.

2. Apply 1 notch of flaps.

3. Throttle 100% + WEP as soon as your wheels roll.

4. As soon as your off the carrier deck, pull back a little on your stick and raise gear asap. Once you have positive air/climb, retract flaps and release WEP.

Note: Zekes and the Seafire are good AC to get the feel of a CV take-off. Next try light Corsairs with 50% gas. Once you're comfortable with that, try adding bombs, rockets, more fuel, etc. A full loaded Corsair (2 1,000k bombs + rockets + drop tanks + 50% - 100% fuel)  takes practice.

Chuck Norris' firsts CV take off was in a Chog with 100% fuel, bombs and rockets.

I would say F4U's are the hardest to take off on CVs (While turning).

I always break gear because the F4U has 'spin outs' a lot.

lol chuck norris fully loaded hog...no chit!
wanna try that, u better be eating at subway for at least 6 months,and sleep at a holiday inn the night before.
the only way a fully loaded hog gets air is if the cv is sinking..lol too funny.

lol deep. it is not  problem for me with a d hog 100% fuel 2 1000 lb bombs and rockets .just full flaps wep and be sure to lift gear after clearing deck

Also, if you just crack the throttle, you can release the brakes and roll back on the deck. Using the F3/F8 views helps, as well as the individual wheel brakes. The extra few plane lengths make taking off heavy somewhat easier.

I use 2 notches of flaps on a fully loaded/100% fuel F6F-5.

You can take off while the CV is turning as long as you get the rudder right but it takes a little practice.
