back in the "old" days we had Night.  But the "whiners" didn't like it so they turned it off
.....It really was cool ....sky full of stars ...and neat lighting effects from the full moon...game went all the way to full dark..then went to sunrise ...sadly the "complainers" beat it down

It's a shame many many players have never seen the sun rise...it really is nice!

night was fun
upping a noe mission and hiting the target at sunrise was great,or flying to a field  and bombing it just as the dawn is coming.

Night would be better if the icon distance was less and you couldnt adjst the gamma

bumpin this back up...and I had an idea to implement this if people did/didn't like it.

I was thinking with the new implementation of night (if it ever happens) there could be an arena with night/day to see how people like it.  If they don't then we could get rid of it again...but I think with moon lighting and searchlights that night flying could be really cool.

would also be neat to have city lights that would be on, then go out when the city is being attacked (to simulate the people turning them off so it is harder for bombers and fighters to make out targets)

I know a lot of this is probably much harder to implement then to just "make it dark" with graphics, lighting programming etc...but I think this could potentially be really cool and get some new players into the game

yeah...it did suck back in the day, but if you read anything  that was written above with the new suggestions or any other posts on how to make night fun instead of the old way it was of just flying in pitch darkness it wouldn't be the same night from before
