105 or 155mm tanks

something like the M.41 155mm,  good for base killing but needs tank backup as it cant move around like a tank and easaly killd from the side or back.

the Hellcat M18 would be nice, a tank killer. this would be a nice offset as it has lighter armer and killed easley but it can kill at a longer range,  meaning a a tiger and few very long shot from a good shooter should put it down.  pro  not a real advantage to either side but something new to drive and shoot.

The sherman had better penetrating power at ALL ranges.
I would like to a a true American tank as the VC Firefly is partly British.

All in favor of a good old fashion M4A2 Sherman, say "I".

Actually the Sherman did not until the M4A3 came on the seen. It was armed with the exact same 76mm main gun as the M-18 Hellcat.
The M4A1 was armed with a low velocity 75mm main gun.

By Sherman I meant  the Sherman in AHII, the VC Firefly.

Thats not accurate, the M1A1C was fundementally identical to the M1A1 gun tube on the sherman. The TD crews had access to the more exotic ammo loads then did the shermans. The M-10 used the same projectiles but with different casings. So the M-10, 76mm shermans and the M-18 all fired functionally identical rounds...but the TD's normally had superior HVAP etc to the M4's...

The M-36 sported the 90mm tube that the Pershing carried and was a much more formidable weapon....

they also had the M-4 and M4A3 with the 105 howitzer.  (3,039 equiped with it)
the sherman also had the T-34 Calliope rocket launcher  that might be a nice addition to the sherman group of tanks.

I agree that the Pershing tanks would be nice but that would be like putting a battleship on the field,  not shure what the cons would be about the the tanks.

one i could see being used in this game is the M.41 "Gorilla"  155 mm Howitzer Moter Carriage.

Pros
its a stop and set up gun and needs support GV's to protect it,  be great for a GV mission,  promotes a team work with it.
bring down VHs in 2 shots

cons
little or no side to side movement to the gun.
time to drope the hand operated recoil spade to the ground
needs support for being killed
has to be uprooted and moved to sight in next target,

why it would be a good GV for this game:
every thing it does would take time,  time in witch it could be takin out by another player,  aircraft or another GV.

the other thing is a GV AA gun like the  75mm auto  T.18 on a modified M.24 chassis,  it would be the uber of air defence on a large air base  or in the field at a spawn point  but should have a high perk point to buy,  this would be a prime gun to use at a spawn point for defence on aircraft, it would make those GV battles alot more even.  i hate to loose a GV fight as anyone else but when the aircraft show up it gives an advantige to that side.
im thinking about the GV's that can be used on oll side but dosent offset the balence of the game and makes it fun for all and the main thing is team play.
shure we could pt in the 8inch gun  T-93 or the bahemath T-95  but that would be to much
we need some US tanks in there first like the M36 for one and better modiling on tank damage and then more perk points for better tanks.

M-18 would be my primary GV ride

Better penetration than US shermans, plus 60mph road speed. Right now I think it is fun to take panzers out with a M8 (lots of moving around and angled shots). M18 would allow me to do the same to Tigers.
