Mars-class Battleship

The newest and largest conventional warship in the Confederate navy. Designed with a mirrored dorsal and ventral superstructure for redundancy.

Note the enclosed engine nacelles.

Superstructure detail. I never finished the
Mars-class, which is why the small defense batteries are non-existant.
Trafalgar-class Battleship

At 9.6km the largest warships in the Confederate fleet. They were designed primarily for smashing an enemy battle-line.

The largest weapon of any ship in the fleet. The bow was mounted with a massive beam cannon, designed to be capable of sawing through any potential opponent. The heavily armored wedge-shaped forward hull provides clearance for almost the ship's entire forward weapons array (yes, borrowed intentionally from the Imperial Star Destroyer. However there's only so many ways to DO this functionality). Owing to the size of the vessel, the
Trafalgar is, more appropriately, armed along the lines of an Age of Sail ship of the line.

Dorsal superstructure. Note that these turrets are the same as the main turrets on the
Mars
Stern, showing additional aft defenses. The armor shield on either side of the engine module is of the same thickness as the bow armor.

Closeup of the dorsal gun ports and the massive cannonades. These immense guns were designed primarily for orbital bombardment, and bombardment of stationary facilities.

Later concepts would have been a more garden trowell-shaped bow to make it somewhat less Star Destroyer-ish
