Hope this one looks OK.   Rebuilt panel and rivet lines from ground up, tried a slightly different metal technique, not sure it made much difference.   Also used Fester's light/dark shading on opposite corners of each panel section (described in his tutorial).  The effect is really noticeable in the bmp file, less so in the game.

Looking for input on metal, weathering, rivets and screws - and generally anything else you guys notice.   Thanks!

:O Way to go! Its great looking. I know metal shines, u might want to add some brighter white lines near the rivets and a big bright feathered line over the middle part of the wing with your brush tool wich gives it a shine.

check the picture below what i mean with the feathered line, the left upper wing has no feathered line the right upper wing has. ( i took a brown color so its easyer to notice.

Also what i do wich makes the skin look much more realistic IMO is adding a black feathered layer on the lower parts on the fuse and the undersides of the plane. I use this as a shadow and change the opacity untill it has the right depth.

Also the USAF marking looks a little blurred to me.

I would fly it when i ever get the chance to fly 38 tho!

EDIT: u might want to check the colors on the merge with the engine fuse and the wing. the engine fuse looks a little more greenish to me

Thanks for the tips, Mus.  I'll take a look at the nsignia and the antiglare green sections - I think they are the same sahed its just the 3D model has some antiglare patches built into it which don't quite match up with the areas I applied the O.D. color - and it changes the shade slightly when viewed at different angles - you can see it on the engine nacelles, too, right below the main area where the little air scoop is.

I'll try the underside shadow too.

Can you show an example of what you mean about the bright white lines near rivets?   Thanks for including the example shot, too.

He means the white line on the right wing of the example he posted. Used to make the skin more "Realistic"

Hey oboe, check my picture on the brown wing, if u look at 1 of the rivets at the end of the wing u see a bright line next to it who gives it more depth/shine.
