I don't know how the scoring is going to play out yet, but thanks for another excellent FSO.

I feel like it might have been an axis loss, but it got so crazy I completely lost track of what was going on.

at about t+70 one of my squaddies said '50 minutes' but I heard 15... I panicked and made some bad calls... My apologies if any squads suffered for that, I might have sent folks in the wrong directions.

Anyhow, Thanks to the Allied command and pilots for their well fought opposition and thanks to my Axis squads for a hard fought and well done evening!

Always a pleasure to command!

Got a question for you Kurt:

Where'd you stash the 163 you used to tow those Zekes at 10 up to 30,000ft?

Whole way in at 25,000ft me and my XO were advising the squad "Threat at this altitude are Tonies. We should be above the Zekes and 84s." Then the rain of Zeros begins, lol!

No planes in my orders were sent to that altitude. Frankly I didn't expect the allied attack to be especially high, I was more concerned with NOE inbounds.

Anyone up that high did so on their own.

A hearty ~~to whoever was coordinating base defense of 10, then. We were caught completely by surprise (but if I do say so myself, handled ourselves adequately considering we were outnumbered about 4-1, lol).~~

I had a lot of forces in position there since the Allied attack was from two completely opposite sides of the map, attempting to defend against the ingress routes was going to be very difficult...

So I placed 2 mid-sized squadrons over the target bases to shore-up my outer perimiter.

The squads at that location were Fate and LCA. Other squads may have been in the area depending on how their patrols were shaping up.

We were slotted to patrol south of A26 and did so for much of the frame. The only action was two Spits in the first 15 minutes and sondog dispatched them rather quickly.

We then patrolled north and south for an hour or so. Finally we moved west and inland looking for action. Every flashing base stopped flashing before we arrived (25 Ki-61s) and finally most of us rearmed at A10. A short while later we escorted shaunBN and crew east as they headed out for a enemy CV group. Engaged several F4Us. Lost a few and shot down a few. Hope you guys made it.

We ended the night with 9 kills and 3 deaths. Long frame with little action. Thankfully that does not happen often.

Wouldn't have been our F4Us then, daddog. We were bounced by about 20 30k Ki-84s and Zeros at T+30, and shot down and lost 1 (not bad for only four Hogs under the circumstances), and then once we got out of there got hit by a number of N1Ks. Two N1Ks down for two F4Us. I was the only one who got back to friendly territory. I picked up four more defending the CV groups, bringing 251's total to 7 scalps for 3 losses.

Kudos to Fate and LCA for recognizing the feint and having the discipline not to send the whole crew after us. I think we may have at least hooked the N1Ks, though, as if they hadn't pursued as aggressively as they did they probably would have been in position to intercept the main group.
