They say that if global warming continues at it's present rate then in 15 years Britain will have a climate like the south of France.

As a side effect Holland will be underwater, together with lots of Norfolk.
Not really seeing the downside here......

Because he is a POS. He doesn't give a ratts behind about the enviroment. He just wants the attention, and will most likely turn it aounf for his own personal gain. Just like he did when he was VP (see link).

I believe in mans ability to negatively impact the environment.  After that I know very little about anything.

Is it really so hard to believe that we are responsible for some of the causes of global warming?

I'm seeing more than just a little bit of personal anger issues surfacing. Cause making a poopie over Gore is always the bottom line in the debate/poll over climate change and the current rationalization that since it exists and we're too selfish to change lifestyles it must be beneficial.

Before you judge my position I will explain it.

I hate Gore and don't beleive that he deserves any praise for any involvement he has had with the climate change issue.

I do beleive in the theory that it is possible for man to change the climate. I have yet to see undisputed evidence that that is what is happening. I feel that there are many other possible cause for climate change, which I do agree is occuring, that are just as likely as it being man-made. Because I do beleive that the idea of man-made climate change is possible I do agree in taking preventive measures. But since I do not see proof that that is the cause, I do not beleive in radical changes that can have negative economic effects.
So yes man should be doing things to reduce our CO2 emissions, but not in a way that will cause possibly unessecary problems.

And don't blame my political stand point for hating Gore. I am not affiliated with either party nor do I beleive in a party system.

Man can influence the climate not just by gross pollution but also by urban sprawl.   A recent study commissioned by NASA  shows cities like Atlanta and Phoenix have directly influenced local weather patterns.

I accept your stance (whether I agree or not). Just didn't find the "WhyIhateGore-a-thon" particularly convincing nor relative to Laz' "who all here's enjoying the climate change as much as me?" poll. :)

I have seen that about the cities influencing weather before, but tto me that is really unavoidable. Anywho, I brought up My position on Gore because it seemed to me that Mac was saying because Gore got a nobel peace prize that what he says must be true, and I obviously disagree.

I find it curious how all you do so good to deny your own downfall. Funny, really. No faith in the great, and no faith in the bad. Where is faith then, I ask?

It is no mystery that you are destined to fail. But you will deny more, I do not doubt.
