Salute Skinners

...of the JagdGeschwader 11 skins currently available.  An ongoing appreciation from the boys of JG11 to Fencer and Krusty.

A few shots of the (4) planes in action.  I have always been a fan of the yellow trim used by the Luftwaffe, and JG11 employed it's use more than many even late war, due to the group's yellow Reich defense identifying fuse bands.  All of these birds are simply beautiful to me, and we in the virtual JG11 employ them daily and enjoy them much.  Thanks guys, and the same to everyone who adds to the game through the creation of skins, maps, sound packs, etc...

the JG11 FW190A-5 by Krusty:

The JG11 bf109G-6 by Fencer. Quite possibly the most beautiful plane in game. :)

The 190's are such sexy planes.

We would be forever grateful!

Your welcome again.  I need to fix the G6's wing crosses though.  The K4 is still on the back burner and get me that 190D9 info you mentioned by the 21st please.

I enjoy doing skins for squadrons who will used them.  There are so many neat skins out there that never seem to be flown.

Don't take it as an offence Fencer, but you might aswell add some shadows, dirt and panel shadings.

I would love it if they had those added onto the skins.

Shadows are produced in real-time by the game engine. Putting flat shadows on the bitmap would be at odds with the position of the sun in the game arena.

Fencer's 109G-6 JG11 skin has been my fav since he made it, and it will be for some time. If only I flew the g6 more

No offence taken MusP51, but I am not going to listen to you.

I look at pictures of the actual aircraft for what they looked like back then from books.  And where possible, like for the P-51s, what restored to factory issue aircraft look like currently.

Not to hijack, but what software do you prefer for skinning?

Also, any tips for "staying in the lines" on templates?  I've tried with the magic wand in PS but it grabs too much.

Adobe Photo Shop, I have an old copy.

I guess I don't understand the "staying in the lines" question?  You are using layers...

Forgive me, because I'm fairly green at this.  I was referring to when you paint a layer, how does one (using a B/W template) keep the color in the edges, or does one just erase.

In the past, someone told me to go to Simmers paint shop, but not much help there for AH2.  Some, but not a lot.

Make a selection, and paint inside that selection.
