I keep loosing my sound, than to get it back I need to minimize AH, and than bring it back to full screen. But sound keeps going out.

Vista? Windows XP? Onboard sound device?

Try reducing the sound hardware acceleration. For onboard sound devices, there is no real hardware acceleration available. All that does is set the CPU priority for sounds to play.

If you are running Vista, there is a driver issue with your sound chip. If you added custom sounds, then get rid of them. Vista has enough problems with its new sound system for games without compounding them with large sound files.

Skuzzy,

I have searched through the control panel, in both the Sound file and the System file, and connot find sound hardware acceleration. I appologize for my limited computer technology, if you have time, please point me in the right direction to find where I can adjust the sound hardware acceleration.

CaptKaos here's what you need to do to get there:

From your desktop, click "Start" then "Run"

Type dxdiag into the window and click ok.

you will see the DXdiagnostic window come up. let it run through it's thing (you will see a green progress bar in the bottom left of the window, let it finish before you select anything).

You will see tabs at the top of the window. Open the sound tab and you will see a slider there. If it is at the full mark (all the way to the right) try setting it one notch to the left (so its at the 3/4 mark).

Also Skuzzy was asking for your DX diag output. To get this click on the save button at the bottom of the window on the first page. Normally all you need to send, or post here, is the first 3rd or so of the report, but Skuzzy may need more.

Also, if you are running custom sounds in AH (as Skuzzy mentioned) get rid of them and try the standard sounds. It is possible that your custom sounds are causing this.

Okay, I lowered the sound hardware acceleration, and will let youknow if this solves the problem. The following is some of the output from the DX diag after I made the change. had to stay under the 1000 character limit.

I am surprised the game runs at all. You are using a vide card driver which is pre-DX9 based. You should upgrade to the 61.77 drivers. DO NOT go past that driver version for you videe card. You can find the 61.77 drivers at http://www.nvidia.com in the archive section.

Not only can I play, but check out my fighter kill/death ratio for the last tour, and most of it was in a c.205.

I will check on updating my video driver, thanks for all the help.
