On Jan 8th at 9pm the Extreme Air Racing League is hosting an open to all memorial service for 68KO on the one year anniversary of his premature passing.  All are welcome.

The Special Events Arena will be open to all who wish to attend for an approximately one hour service with guest speakers talking about the good times we've had, the good times we'll have and where we wouldn't be today had it not been for KO regarding Special Events especially the racing league.  We'll have speakers representing the Special Events staff, his squadron members and those who knew him well.

If you or someone you know might be interested in preparing a few words then please send me a PM and I will see about inclusion into the speaker list.  If you knew him well or was a part of your life or gaming experience then I encourage you to come forward and share your experience.

Following the service there will be a flight demonstration of a flight of 4 P-51s lasting 7-10 minutes culminating with a narrated missing man pass.

After the events had concluded there will be the regularly scheduled race and all are welcome to join.  When the plane and track are decided I will post an update in this thread so anyone who wishes to take part in the race will have no excuse not to have had their required practice!

We look forward to seeing you there.

The event isn't so much a memorial flight as it is a service.  There will be several speaking guests arranged ahead of time and I will be posting a schedule of events listing speakers and further details once they are in order.  During the service flight will be closed with the main focus of the event being on the eulogies being delivered by 68KOs friends and associates.

During a TBD point in the service a 4 ship of P-51s will take off and standby out of sight until the service is complete.  When the timing is right the airplanes will arrive over the field and perform a "short" demonstration somewhere in the neighborhood of 10 minutes in length with several maneuvers and passes ending in a missing man pass.  Once the flight is concluded we will be diving right into that nights regularly scheduled air race currently scheduled to be hosted by HB555.

Any and all are invited.  Please feel free to tell anyone you wish they are welcome to join the event and participate in the air race should they wish.  If you're interested in peparing a few words then don't hesitate to PM me and I will try to arrange for it in the schedule.  In theory we have all the time in the world, in practice we have about one hour until that nights scheduled race so I'd like to keep things a little orderly so we don't have to feel rushed during the service.

Any questions again...PM or post!

Back at ya Sue.

We not only didn't forget, we remember, everyday. Thank you for allowing us to celebrate Bill's life here in our community. Bill is widely respected by many, many people. We want his memory to live on through our community in hopes his life inspires others as it has ours. I look forward to participating in something so honorable as this. Thank you.

Apparently, one in five people in the world are Chinese. And there are five people in my family, so it must be one of them. It's either my mum or my dad. Or my older brother, Colin. Or my younger brother, Ho-Chan-Chu. But I think it's Colin. - Tim Vine.
