Hyundai makes very good cars these days.  I expect Genesis to be even better.

Have ya'll seen how well made Hyundai Veracruz is? I was very impressed with it, interior is top notch. Material and build quality is also excellent.

Hyundai for sure has pulled off an amazing Uturn since the early 1990s.

Only Hyundai I've been in had styrofoam in the doors.  The squeaking sound it made over every bump in the road was terrible.

I have a Hyundai Tiburon, it is a good car.

That Genesis looks a little like a Lexus IS250

If it's going to be even near as good it will end up costing the same like Benz and the likes. And in this case, which are you going to purchase for $60k? A Mercedes Benz or a Hyundai?

Those who are able to afford a Lexus, Merc, or BMW partly buy it for the vanity of the name and wouldn't be caught dead in anything named a Hyundai... while I'm sure it will be a nice car the above 3 don't have much to worry about.

Reminds me of when Mercedes tried to attack the low end of the market with the 190 (W201-chassis).  What a complete piece of crap that was and M-B is still feeling the affects of that effort.

Umm what about Vaneo and the A series?

Those 190's are popular tuning chassis here in Finland. They boost the OM603 turbodiesel to 450+ horsepowers (street legal btw) which really moves the relatively light 190.

From reading I see they make junk cars. So what exactly is the threat to the other manufacturers? Parts laying in the road... that could be dangerous.... ??

Hyundai isn't junk. It's not the end all-be all of cars, but it's not junk. Their business is growing well (and by extension, my business).
