Problem with Japanese tanks is that thier armour is so thin, that during WWII, U.S. takes had to use HE rounds against them.  AP rounds would just punch a hole going in and going out.  Needless to say, lets get some Sherman Variants first, and maybe the best tank of WWII, The Panther!

We do already have a variant of the Sherman, it's the Firefly Vc.

The Japanese army had the Type 3 "Chi-Nu" which was the closest thing they had to the Sherman in terms of armor and main gun.

They remind me of the Vickers VI that the British used in the battle of France... useless!

Remember, the Japanese, aware of their limited industrial capacity, made a concious decision to focus on aircraft and ships due to the terrain they anticipated fighting over.  Their only real tank, the Type 3 "Chi Nu", was developed as it became clear they would need such a weapon.

While Japanese tanks may have been very unimpressive compared to American and European tanks, they were in all likelyhood fearsome weapons to the Chinese.

I am not sure the Chi-Nu would qualify for inclusion in the game for the same reason as some planes will likely not be modeled.  If I read that correctly, it was never involved in combat against hostile forces.

I would like to see a variety of light tanks added to the game -- some of the Japanese tanks listed, the M3 Stuart tanks, and the Pzkw38(t), just to name a few.

First of all, the tank corps really didn't get all that much attention from their army.   They suffered from the same attitude High Command had for their submarine forces, it wasn't deemed "honorable" enough.  An example of the High Command's Bushido code clouding their judgement.

And you also have to take a look how they were used.  As Karnak pointed out, they were used to good success in China where the Japanese didn't need to have heavily armored or armed tanks as the tanks were mostly used to support infantry and not tank on tank fighting.  Coupled with China's poor quality tanks
