Nice, is that real granite?

My place sorely needs a remodel like that.  Next challenge is the furnace.  Although I've had a slight bump in the road.

Girlfriend was in the attic moving stuff and misplaced her foot.  She stepped onto insulation and "CRUNCH"...now a bedroom has a 12 inch hole in its ceiling.  I can't wait to see what that costs.  :cry

I figured something was up when I got a LOT of lovey text messages just as I was headed home from work  :lol

You should be able to do the sheet rock ceiling yourself Lepaul.

Yes, its "Seafoam" granite, a grade D granite. She and I agreed to go top of the line for everything since we'll probably live here at least another 15 years....Kitchen Aid appliances (except for the Jen-air cook top), Franke sink and faucet,.  No, its not paid for...

Next room is the Family room, starting Jan. 10th.

Bob Villa I'm not  :)  The first words out of her mouth when she showed me the damage was "I'll pay to have it fixed"  And with that went the call to the contractor   :t

Yes, I negotiated all the prices myself. :D
(And actually, I got contractors prices on all the appliances!)

Heck no, the only thing I did was install and hook up the gas range and sink.

My wife commented to the ovens installer that she's glad I hired someone to have them installed because judging by all the cutting and fitting they did during installation she was sure I would have divorced her! ;)

Thanks guys!

rpm, it's her raise we're spending....my was spent two years ago on her Mustang.:(

Nice Rip, love it. You must have different codes out there, we have to have gfci outlets in the kitchen(at least the counters anyway).

Gonna do some work(new bathroom) this spring.

My buddy is an electrician, we just removed the old(and I mean old) fuse boxes and put in a 30 circuit breaker panel with a main shut off(box) where the power comes in(i'll dig up the pics)

I don't make alot of money, so we bought an old house(20's or 30's, records burned in a town hall fire years ago), so there is alot of work to do.

It really means something special to owners of old houses when you get your hands dirty remodeling them. :aok Good luck, it all pays off in the long run, especially knowing you did it with your hard work.

Oh, and I'm a Steelers fan...for THIS week-end only! :p

Ya know, one loss would end all the freakin media hype, I am so sick of hearing all the unbeaten and greatest team crap. I mean, the team had won, at one point, 21 games in a row and there wasn't half the media hype(steelers broke that streak, btw).

Anyone but the steelers, plz, make it the dolphins that do it

I am really not fond of hearing the words "kitchen" and "rennovation"or "remodel" in the same sentence.

We had ours redone and had nightmare after nightmare to get it done.

The job was started last August and there is STILL some small items we are trying to get finnished.

My office reno is almost done though....just hiding wires and waiting for a credenza to be delivered and my case for HMS Victory to arrive and I'm done there.

They could very well be GFCI protected without looking like GFCI recepts. As long as they are on the circuit they are in code.
