Lost EVERYTHING!
« on: December 07, 2007, 08:11:09 PM »
Was deleting an old game off my computer today and somehow it deleted just about everything on my desktop with it! Lost picture folders, other games, my shortcut to dial-up connection, but most importantly ACES HIGH 2!! Game and Folder. Now spent the last 2 1/2 hours redownloading everything, but luckly an old version of the game (which was in "My Documents") wasn't deleted. So, reinstalled the old version, redownloaded the updates, plane cache, finally got the game up to date, reset my controller (Saitek X52), and remapped controls. Got the game up, got my controller set (probly gonna have to be remapped every time I eneter AH2 like it use to, but it all works out in the end), and then I forgot it deleted my "Aces High II" folder! finally did find it after searching for 30 minutes. All that's left is to get my sounds working, get my gunsights back, and work out any kinks I run across.

All this because I wanted to get rid of "Ghost Recon" (which wasn't a game I really got into). So if you have it on your computer, DO NOT DELETE IT!

If anyone has some gunsights, I'd love to have them, checking out Sketch's right now.

In other words, you deleted the folder rather than uninstall the software?

If that's the case... Never do that. Always uninstall from the Windows Control Panel.
