You mean in-game, or in "control panel"?

Well, try this: Go to the NVIDIA Control Panel, and "Manage 3D settings"

In the list these are the things that will make games look better:

anisotropic filtering (a.k.a. "aniso")

4x or better looks decent. I bet you could push it up to the max, but pick a middle-to-high setting.

antialiasing (a.k.a. "AA" or "FSAA")

For an 8800 Ultra I say put this puppy on 8x or more. I would also put Antialiasing - Gamma Correction to "on" and "Antialiasing - Transparency" to "supersampling"

Texture filtering - quality (a.k.a. quality settings)

Set this to "high quality" -- trust me on this. If you've got the muscle to run it in this mode (and you do) it will make a world of difference. You play HL2 with this turned down and it looks okay, but you turn it up to "high quality" and the shaders really pop out at you.

Vertical Sync (a.k.a. "vsync")

For AH set this to "force on" to prevent rubber bullets.

uh, nice PC!  I run 1600x1050, 4x AF and AA, 1024 texture on my E6400 and my 8800 GTS 640mb and AH runs flawless.  Turn Vsync off I'll peak around 200FPS, otherwise a consatnt 60FPS.
