I stayed on fireguard all night and after cooking breakfast my wifey took over to let me sleep.  Monday and Tuesday got really depressing... yet we managed.  

The stores here are out of everything imaginable.. no candles, firewood, batteries, generators. Gas stations are few and far to come by... we found one yesterday. 1 1/2 hours in a line, pay in advance check or cash only.. Police there ensure everyone was being kewl.

They said we were to be without power until the 18th....we just got power back 3 hours ago and thats not to reliable right now.  Snow is on the way, temps dropping to lows tonight. Found my chainsaw and 3 hours worth of daylight to cut away the fallen trees infront of the house to clear a path and provide firewood for the days to come.

We survived the first few days... and we'll make it the rest. Just gotta take care of the Neighbors around us.

Man I am beat!  

Could barely get out of bed this morning. Slept for 10 hours. Body aches from all the wood cuttin yesterday.  

Cleared most of my front yard and an elder couples yard across from us. Max and Mama Jo are a great couple both in their mid 70's. He's a Korean War Vet...Air Force... kinda stubborn, yet level headed.

I'm just getting to dam old now.

Doesn't work... threw a shot of cold water on the wifes thong and she comensed to beat my arse.... she was still in them.

Sunday power died twice... 1st time for 3 hours and then for 6 hours.

Monday power died again for the last time until Wednesday.

Here MT I know yer really bored but you can call the Public Service of Oklahoma at 1-888-832-6279 and verify any power outages here in Tulsa, OK and the immediate surrounding areas.

We got a little ice but nowhere near as bad, but it still had me stuck at home for 2 days due to living out in the sticks and them not bringing an ice truck out this far.
Must be bad for an old fart like you MAC !!

Ya know xbrit. I'm so glad we pissed each other off Years ago or we'd probably never have been friends.  

But like they say "Youth is Wasted on the Young." Pfffft...Kids.

The ice storm has cut down on my shopping for presents though...

TxMom how did Texas do?  Any probs? I haven't seen the news in 3 1/2 Days.
It'll take more than this to keep you down Mac.    You and I are too stubborn to do so.

This is the best piece of equipment ever.  Burns corn, wood pellet, sunflower seed and wheat.  As quadra fire approves new fuels for it, they send us a flash drive with the program for the fuel, we plug the drive into the thermostat and it programs the stove for that fuel.  Then its just a matter of selecting the type of fuel we are going to burn on the thermostat.

Best part is, its a 12 volt system, so in the event of a power outage, I put a deep cycle car battery to it and its fully functional.

It cost us just over $4700 installed (wife HAD to have the top of the line options ) but will pay for itself in about 3 1/2 years.
