AT&T U-Verse

So I finally broke down and made the switch.  I've had direcTV for about 6 years now and have allways loved their product and customer service.  However, the cost for this service has gone up and up and it seems that it has reached it's technological limitations (IMHO).

I keep getting these adds in the mail from ATT for their Uverse package.

I allready have AT&T home phone, yahoo DSL, and wireless services.  With this package it allowed me to put them ALL on one bill with their cable service and I save about $58 a month.

What I got was 300 channels.  Yahoo DSL at 6mb/s DL, cell service and phone service (unlimited long distance) all for about $199/mo.

The TV service is great so far.  I can DVR up to four ch at a time.  Its fast, and loaded with features.  The cable guy told me that in the future they are working on a feature that I can hook up an external hard drive/flashdrive and transport recorded shows from TV to TV.

Gotta say if you are thinking about getting rid of sattilte and this is available look them up.

PS

The operator spoke perfect American english.

Ok just a little missleading information I got BEFORE the install.  There are ONLY 4 TV streams coming in.  That means I can record 4 shows at once but no one else in the house can watch cable.  I'm not exactly happy to find this out after the install.

Not only that, with my U-verse only 1 tv in the household can watch HD and if your recording an HD channel you HAVE to watch that channel.  My HD video is also less than desirable but I've been told that a new STB is on the way.  I liked the one I got from Time-Warner much much better.

Still, it beats the 42% price increase I got from Comcast.
