Heh that reminds me of one time on Mindano I was flying south to A4 along the coast and someone was started shelling my base.. I know this because at about 5K up I saw 2, 8" rounds fly just shy of the right of my canopy going north.

Was one of thos WTF!! moments lol.

I shot myself down once with the A2G rockets. I was flying in a tight formation with a few other P-38s, Codi drifted out in front of my bird, I was screwing with my map or something, I don't really recall.

Anyways I had my rockets selected as we were about to start our run, I was adjusting the trim of my aircraft (I have my trim control on my stick), when I fired a rocket off, I looked up in time to see it making a perfect bee line for Codi's right tail boom. It hit, blew up and kill shooter blew me out of the sky. I was pissed at myself for that one.

Forget who it was, but was in a fw190 with just rockets hunting a buff mission outa A221 (bishop base at the time) Myself and nightmove moved to intercept them.

Anyhow 2 sets of lancs on top of each other, fired off one rocket, went to low, second one i pulled up and fired, nailed 2 buffs on one shot.

was first attempt at a2a rockets and it worked out quite well since I was diving in at over 500 mph and pulled up when i fired.

I gotta say if your willing to take the drag of having the rockets its worth taking for buffs only, my success is now 1 for 2 fired at buffs with 2 kills.

I would rather have gun gondolas for FW190s then take rockets but i guess no choice

In September I started getting really good with the WGr 21's... I'd get 1 success in 4 sorties (rough estimate).

Here's one from the DGS practice frame. Please note: Lethality is turned DOWN TO ZERO! It's as low as it can go, meaning it's about 1/1000th normal damage levels. Even so I STILL popped the bomber with one of my rockets! Pretty potent things!

Note: I'm not sure I've got the kill because lethality is set to almost nothing. It takes me a minute to realize one of the bombers is missing.

The second one is in the MA. I came across a formation of B17s and ... well I was giddy with the results. I'm used to getting one, not two, so it was a very rare moment!

The smoke puff in the image is almost right behind the wing of that drone. It took out 2 drones, it looks like!
