WW2 FPS mod for BF2
« on: August 01, 2005, 10:14:42 PM »
An upcoming mod for Battlefield 2.   Anyone play this mod on BF1942?  If so, how was it?  It actually sounds it might be better than DoD.

Looks like a great game.  How is the playerbase?  Is there a good following?

It looks good enough that I may buy BF2 just for that.

BF2 is great, despite being plagued with quite a few problems.  It should have stayed in development for a couple of more months but pressure by EA forced an early release.  The recent update did fix a lot of things and it improved game play a lot.  Great game, highly recommend it.

BTW- anti-tank guy rocks in BF2.

I think I played it a with BF1942, but if I'm not mistaken wasn't it the Vietnam mod then? If so I played it a lot along with Desert Storm or what ever that other mod was.

I will say the best thing ever in BF1942 was getting in a plane and flying it 2 ft off the ground at enemy airfield chopping down all the guys waiting for a plane to spawn. My other favorite past time was to do jeep jumping with the satchel charges.

I used to play Joint Ops as well, A much better game IMO. One of my favorite things to do was pick the pilot outfit because both teams looked almost the same.

I'd then sneak off to the enemy Helicopter spawn point and I'd jump in the back of the chopper and sit there like I'm waiting for a pilot. If the first guy didn't notice you were an enemy you were almost guaranteed to not get killed by the other players.

Being everyone either wanted to fly or get a gun they hardly ever paid any attention if you went shooting at them when they ran up. I'd then wait for the chopper to get airborne and go about knifing everyone in the chopper.

Another fun one was to plant C4 on a vehicle or Chopper and wait for them to take off and hit the switch.

Oh that was some GG's there I used to love being a sneaky SOB.
