FSO Squadron Skins

Ok, so individual custom player skins won't happen, nor likely will squadrons on the Mains. However:

Allow squadrons registered for FSO to have their own custom skin.

Since FSO is already regulated, it would be easier to police the skins and make sure they're appropriate and match the general scheme of the aircraft type -- Put a link for uploading a skin in the squadron management section By restricting custom squadron skins to FSO squads, it would prevent people from making "squads of one" on the MA just to have their own skin, as well as minimize the caching/etc issues that would come from 200-300 different custom skins in the air at once. This would also help foster visual unity among squad members, especially units that don't have a historical counterpart to choose from.

Doesn't work that way. One system is in place for all arenas. None of them are separate from any of the others.

Considering the time it takes to even update the skins packs, and even LONGER time it takes to rotate out P51Ds, it could be months on end before you get any results to change it over for the next event, even if it were coded.

Plus, I don't see it as important. If a squad wants visual unity, they'll all fly the same skin (and most do). Not to mention the whines in the MA and the inaccurate skins slipping through the critiquing process as-is... It's pandora's box.

It's a simple request but with a very complex implementation. I don't ever see it happening.

I'm not saying it would be easy and that there's not things needed more, but it also wouldn't be impossible.

As far as unrealistic skins, I'm also not saying allow a squadron to fly the Richard Simmons La-7. Just instead of being a historical aircraft, it has to be a historical SCHEME:

IE, correct camoflage patterns and colors, national insignia placement and colors, etc. However squadron insignia and placement, nose art, MoDex numbers, etc.
