There is a plan in place.

There is a design for a spacecraft that could easily intercept the asteroid at a distant point...and using the asteroid's own gravitational pull, change it's trajectory a few degrees one way or another to totally miss earth.

The technology is already out there.

If this thing does hit earth, I don't think that anyone will be sitting on there duff playing AH, this means a great loss in income to HTC for meny years. Do the math, millions of people die in the strike zone that may or may not have thousands of AH players in it.

I did the math, and I came up with...

48.083

What does that tell you?

HG...NASA is simply a liberal left wing stooge of the democratic party.  This is nothing but a fund raiser for their scientists.

Lazs survived the big comet strike that ended the reign of the dinosaurs. On the subject, he mentioned that while it was a little too bright for normal sleep patterns, there was plenty to eat and not a great deal of competition for it. I'm not going to get too concerned about a possible impact until he does.

Look people, I only started this thread to let everyone know what may happen, I for one care about the humen race and what happens to it, no matter what your color is or what country you live in.

Skuzzy, you can close this thread anytime, it seems that no one realy gives a crap anymore, and I find that very sad and heartless.

"I address you tonight not as the President of the United States, not as the leader of a country, but as a citizen of humanity.  We are faced with the very gravest of challenges.  The Bible calls this day Armageddon.  The end of all things. And yet, for the first time, in the history of the planet a species has the technology to protect its own extinction.  All of you praying with us need to know that everything that can be done to prevent this disaster is being called into service. The human thirst for excellence, knowledge, every step up the ladder of science, every adventurous reach into space, all of our combined modern technologies and imaginations, even the wars we’ve fought, have provided us the tools to wage this terrible battle. Through all the chaos that is our existence, through all the wrongs, and the discord, through all of the pains, and suffering, through all of our times, there is one thing that has nourished our souls and elevated our species above its origin, and that is our courage.

The dreams of an entire planet are focused tonight on those fourteen brave souls traveling into the heavens.  May we all, citizens the world over, see these events through.  God speed and good luck to you.
"

Nothing to worry about Hollywood has us covered.  We might even have an X-80 by then :lol
