Just a minute, Turks...

Now, the Turks just hit the Kurds again.
So, did Uncle Sam know?
If he did, did he:
1. Give a pass.
2. Have a slow...prettythang?
It was very interesting to carry out the flight trials at Rechlin with the Spitfire and the Hurricane. Both types are very simple to fly compared to our aircraft, and childishly easy to take-off and land. (Werner Mölders)

You know, it occurs to me that your question would be better directed to either the US State Dept. or the Pentagon. I doubt that anyone here works there and if they did are not likely to give you a real answer. In the mean time no one else has a freaking clue until the news breaks with comments from the above listed agencies. In other words, why don't you just wait a bit and read / listen to the news.

:huh
DEFINITION OF A VETERAN
A Veteran - whether active duty, retired, national guard or reserve - is someone who, at one point in their life, wrote a check made payable to "The United States of America", for an amount of "up to and including my life."

Now lets see...

Terrorists from the organisation [A] attack and kill innocent civilians of the nation . They operate from nation [C].

Finally nation decides to protect its civilians by attacking the bases of the terrorists of the organisation [A]. By doing so they have to cross the border of nation [C] and causing collateral damage.

If we add for

A = Hezbollah
B = Israel
C = Lebanon

then everyting is fine.

But if we add for

A = PKK
B = Turkey
C = Iraq

then its unacceptable.

Why ?

Isn't Iraq a ward of the coalition (U.S., really)? With all the correlations being flung about regarding the occupation there being no different than the post-war occupation of Germany, what sector does Northern Iraq belong to? Turkey and Turkey, alone? Eh, screw international law. Turkey should be allowed to do whatever it wants. ;)

Because diplomacy is just another dirty word, anyway. If we want to protect U.S. interests abroad we can just do so outside the law with swift and brutal force. Who's gonna stop us? And if we dig Turkey they can too. (Yeah, sounds Colbertish) ;)

(Don't be offended. Just an example of how fast simple-minded "logic" falls apart. Or .... do you not see the problem with this? If the latter, never mind. Truck on.) :)

International law is a damn joke.
Only thing I can compare it to as far as farces would be our list of allies who include Russia that stabs us in the back every chance they get. It also is a one way street.
Putting a pretty dress on a pig doesn`t help much.
Our international interests abroad will be decided by the U.S. and the country in question..same as it`s always been.
IMHO we have way too many so called international intersts abroad.

Because isolationism got us where we are today. Who needs allies when we got each other? Good thing we don't surrender jobs to other countries. I just want the people who are the "deciders" to pick a single line of thought. Carry on. :)

Hey, if your toes feel stepped on just move them. If you feel there's not a problem then there's no need for you to have one with me, is there? ;)

LOL
No problem there. It takes some heavy for me to notice that they are trying to step on my toes.
Lightweights are an amusement. :)

As far another joke goes............I thought this fit the line of thought.

Recently, a local government hired several cannibals to increase their diversity,

'You are all part of our team now,' said the Human Resources rep during the welcoming briefing. 'You get all the usual benefits and you can go to the cafeteria for something to eat, but please don't eat any employees.'

The cannibals promised they would not.

Four weeks later their boss remarked, 'You're all working very hard and I'm satisfied with your work. We have noticed a marked increase in the whole company's performance. However, one of our clerical staff has disappeared. Do any of you know what happened to her?'

The cannibals all shook their heads, 'No.'

After the boss had left, the leader of the cannibals said to the others, 'Which one of you idiots ate the clerk?' A hand rose hesitantly. 'You fool!' the leader continued. 'For four weeks we've been eating managers & supervisors and no one noticed anything. But NOOOooo, you had to go and eat someone who actually does something.

Thanks for the non-sequiteur moment (it was a fairly decent joke) and assurance that you don't really have a problem with our differences of opinion. I appreciated the time and effort you put into that. :)
