Any chance of there being some kind of 'jet version' of the Aces High II game?

Nothing has helped me learn more about WWII aircraft than Aces High II. The game has made me understand flight characteristics and has brought up many questions into my mind... which in turn dug my nose into internet sources, encyclopedias and the all-powerful interwebz. I want to expand on my knowledge of jets in a similar fashion.

Any kind of game with a jet FM as good as AHII?

Personally I'd rather see a WWI version...but a jet version would be cool too I suppose.

WWI would be the ultimate in Dogfighting.   You aren't "running" from your opponent.    HO's are pretty much out of the question as well.

Just good combat, the way it should be and isn't today.

No thank you on a Korean, Vietnam, Current or added jets Sim.

It wouldn't be a furball.   You're dreaming if you think it would be.

Not to hijack, but I remember playing DOA and having to constantly watch your divespeed (150 + and your wings would rip off), and constantly keeping an eye on your opponent because he had the same series of issues to deal with. Some of the really good fights would last 20 or more minutes! Even one on one. Then there was looking over the side to drop bombs, and hunting zeps with incendairy bombs. Good times. :)

}i{ AOD will return!

The first flight sim I had (not counting Flight SIm 95 for Microcrap) was Flying Corps.  Good old DOS, the game was pretty fun for 10+ years ago.  I never did play Red Baron.  I look back at the game and was always puzzled why they shipped the game with a reprinted book of a 'How to Fly' fly manual circa 1918 or so.   I still have the book, but never read it.

I'd rather play a WW1 flight sim over anything modern day.  Probably won't happen (at least have a good game) since marketing for super fast jets etc is soo much easier.
In game callsign: not currently flying
Flying off and on since Warbirds

nope actualy its called 'flyboys squadron' or something similar.

It is basicaly warbirds or airwarrior or something made into ww1 planes. when the game crashes the bug report says warbirds06.exe has failed, iirc.

Even vs AI fighters it is actualy very fun for half an hour or so a month.

Flyboys squadron= Dawn of Aces in a different dress.

Kind of SOP for that companies business practices.

Although the new version doesn't hold a candle to DOA 2.7?. Those were the days when it was fun. :)

Don't worry - they had the HO there too.  Made Max Immelmann famous as I recall....

I remember the AW WWI arena---flight model was inane...the faster plane had no advantage at all, those who mastered the trick of making their plane spin somersaults in mid-air won the fights
