What size projection would give a true 1:1 life size image?

I have a 62 inch rear projection TV that will soon be obsolite for the family entertainment center (going with either LCD or plasma)
Will I be able to use the rear projection TV?

Probably less than 4 foot monitor, corner to corner. Projectors will definetly oversize it.

Well, it depends on how you feel about large pixels.

Most older rear projection TVs (and I have one) can display 640x480 very sharply but with HUGE blocky pixels, or 800x600 with a little fuzzyness but smaller pixels that aren't so blocky.

So, what you'd need is a video card that output s-video (best) and a tv that accepts s-video inputs. Then you'd want to set the video driver to use the highest anti-aliasing mode possible, and set the resolution to whatever your TV would support. Set the refresh rate to 60 or so.

You might find the text buffer or gauges hard to read, but maybe you'd find it acceptable.

But it definitely can be done.

Thanks Llama.
The S video connection is there on the TV.  At present I have a XFX 7900 GT 256 video card that doesn't have an S video but I hope to upgrade that this spring.

Or just get a projector that can do 1280X1024 or better, like this (only a 72" screen):

Component would be best, but I am not sure what the DIP switch is for and it says it only works with listed ATI cards-

Silly man.
So you chuckle at her responce then build one anyway.
whats the worst shes going ot do to you? Not put out?

If your like most married men.
shes stopped doing that anyway.
So what are you really loosing?

Next worst thing is she leaves.
Now I ask you.
Is this really a bad thing?
Are you really going to miss the wife ack which always seems to come when your in the middle of the best fights?

The only other thing she can do is stop talking to you.
Again this is a win for you. No more wife ack.

Anyway you slice it. Its a win for you.
I say go for it.

Actually Im thinking of making one with a canopy that closes and I can lock from the inside.
Put my headphones on and Ill be impervious to anything but the house catching on fire.
:aok

Unless, of course, in retaliation for the cockpit, *she's* the one who locks the cockpit canopy from the *outside* and then lights the house on fire. ;-)

Ever been married?

Being roasted alive might be considered and act of mercy.

And wives arent particularly noted for being merciful. LOL
