I quote:

"I'd let you do something like that but not that dentist chair looking thing, at least not in turquoise."

So, does that constitute official agreement and therefore the construction can begin?

 --Steps on Spouse Approval ---
 1. Tell her you will actually spend LESS time playing the game , because the experience is more fullfilling and complete.

 a. All this is done in the name of efficiency and time managment.:aok
 b. This equals more time to spend with her.

 2. You could also find a game she likes , or that the kids like.

  a. "Honey we can also play Playstation in my cockpit."
  b.  Mine uses a massage chair , good for your back and hers.

 3. It is actually less expensive than most other hobbies.

  a. cheaper than a red sportscar/motorcycle/bass boat.
  b. If you can drive it-fly it-or fu#* it , simulate it!

After seeing that dentists chair my brain wouldn't shut off and I just kept thinking about it and how I would do something like that. Down to the point where I was looking for chairs like that on ebay or anywhere else I could think of but with little success and those I did find were to expencive for the little extra cash I have. Then it hit me, the front seats in my 89 suburban would make a perfect chair for something like this. Comfortable, high back and fully adjustable. (not that I plan on ripping the seat out of my suburban)

I started trying to draw up plans on paper but it looked like something my kids could have done and then I remembered I have a 3D modleing program and this is what has poped out of my head so far.

Every thing would be mounted to a thin platform allowing for all wires to be routed from the tower by the seat, through it and out of sight. The monitor would be mounted on a sliding tray allowing for smaller monitors to be pulled closer to the seat. the stick and throttle would be mounted much like I have them now but with extra space on each side for the mouse and a cup holder. :)  And of course the 4 speaker towers and the sub under the seat. I havn't quite figured out how I want to mount my keyboard yet so I can move it in and out of position but I have a couple ideas.

I thought about adding more shelvs to it as this would replace my desk and I would need places to stow all the junk on it.:D But for now I just worked on the bare minimum to save on how much this would cost.  I probably could get more elaberate but at this time I'm just thinking of comfort and usability.
